Gear Based Controller (GBC6)

BoostBySmith & GSXTURBO (Tony Finley) are very proud to bring this new product to reality.

This multi-function device will serve many purposes, and best of all its plug and play (no more pulling the clutch basket to swap gear position sensors like some of my old products).  The display is large enough to be seen over your dash, but isn't so large people 3 lanes over can spot it like some of the other products on the market.  With a full 6061 billet housing, its the only one of its kind as a full billet display (not just a sleeve).  In order to clean up wiring etc its easiest if you purchase my plug and play accesory power harness which plugs in up front near the right turn signal on your bike.  With this harness you can power up 1 item near the dash, and 2 in the tail section.

Product Features:
  • Available in Blue and Red LEDs
  • Available in natural or powder coated black housing
  • Tinted lexan in front of LED for improved visibility in daytime riding
  • Billet Aircraft Quality Aluminum (6061) Gear Indicator (currently available in Blue LED Display)
  • De-Restrictor (1N23455 de-restriction) or TRE if you prefer that (both will defeat the Suzuki 186 mph restriction)  Please make special note if you require the TRE de-restriction (5th gear value sent back to the ECU at all times except when in neutral).  I don't recommend the TRE but there are many out there who do like it so I will make it an option.
  • 6 Gear Based Outputs (a ground signal for each gear is available to trigger devices such as boost controllers, nitrous oxide stages, anything you need gear based functionality for)
  • Plug and Play (Factory GPS connectors just plug in under the gas tank), power and ground come from the euro connector and is plug and play with the addition of my 12 volt accessory harness (link).
  • Compact housing with LED display measuring a little over 1 inch tall x 3/4" wide x 3/4" deep.
Updates:
  • 09-07-2008:  Plastic enclosures are back, GBC6 is functional as a Gear Indicator with 1N23455 or TRE De-Restriction.  In a few weeks I should have gear based outputs functioning in conjunction with the signals back to the ecu.  I only have 6 outputs right now to work with that are correct, but now know whats required to make it correct, new hardware on the way.  For the vast majority of people, the unit as it is now will work just fine if you don't require nos or boost activation based on gear position.
  • 08-31-2008: Plastic enclosures are sent out to be machined for panel mount connectors.  The unit features (2) 8 pin molex panel mount connectors where the gear indicator and gear based output harness will plug in.  By the end of next week I will have 30 enclosures ready to go.
  • 08-26-2008: Unit #1 sold to Dave3.4 of www.suzukihayabusa.org as a TRE de-restriction only (1N23455 de-restriction method is still in testing) to use as a gear indicator as well as activate his AMS500 2 stage boost controller gear based.
  • 08-23-2008:  Billet Aluminum Housings are complete (huge thanks to Brendan Proulx for his designing the enclosure, rear cover, lexan protector etc.
